A Scary Few Days!

We had a scary few days at the end of our Lake Powell trip. Carly had been riding the jet skis with her friend Kim and hit some big waves. The water came up over the front of the jet ski and hit Carly in the eyes with a lot of force. By the next morning she was in a ton of pain and couldn't see out of her right eye (she was only seeing white) and her left eye was blurry. Carly, Kim, Mimi, and I grabbed a few things - jumped in the car - and took off for St George to get medical attention. Come to find out, Carly had scratched off most of the cells of her cornea on her right eye and a patch of them were missing on her left eye. The doctor put some clear contact band aids on her eye and gave us drops to keep her eyes dilated (so they wouldn't have to work very hard), and antibiotic drops, and steroid drops. With a blessing from Tom along with faith, prayers, and the skill of the doctor, Carly's eyes healed very quickly.

Carly's very swollen and dilated eyes.

Starting to feel better, but still needing to wear dark glasses for protection
Chilling downstairs a few days later - watching the Olympics
