Standing Up For Traditional Marriage!!!

Our ward took part in an effort called "Make Orange County Yellow" on Saturday. Many of the Stakes in Orange County were holding banners and rallies at major intersections along Pacific Coast Highway - between San Clemente and Seal Beach. We were standing at Nyes Place in South Laguna Beach. We were a little worried at first about our location, but it turned out to be ok and a lot of fun. Tom and I decided to have the girls come along with us and experience this great opportunity we have to stand up for a cause, and try to restore traditional marriage here in California. Just between Mission Viejo Stake and Laguna Niguel Stake we had about 700 people waving banners. I am trying to get the final count of how many people were holding banners along the whole route. The newspaper gave our effort minimal coverage in Sundays edition - they only mentioned 250 people waving banners in Huntington Beach. Needless to say, we will be canceling our subscription to the Orange County Register. The media no longer makes and effort to print or report the truth - so we will no longer be giving them money for their liberal views!!! OK that's my soapbox speech!!!

We felt like we were at the Polynesian Cultural Center on Sat. There was a fun ward across the street from us (pacific island heritage) that were singing and and shouting their tradition island yells!! They even had felt vests made that looked like our signs. Now that is spirit. During the hour we were out there, a man walked by them and threw trash at some of the young men's feet. I kept thinking to myself "is he crazy" those kids are twice his size and have island passion - if you know what I mean! I was proud of the kids - they kept their cool!
